The 200 Club of Wake County is an organization of concerned citizens dedicated to providing immediate financial help for the spouse and children of police officers, sheriff deputies, firefighters, EMS squad members and North Carolina State Highway Patrol serving in Wake County who lose their life in the line of duty.

Detective Paul Andrew Hale

The 200 Club of Wake County was founded by Patricia and Richard Hale in honor of their son, Paul Andrew Hale.

Detective Hale was fatally shot while attempting to apprehend a murder suspect.

The suspect was convicted of Detective Hale's murder and sentenced to life in prison. As of 2023, the suspect, one of North Carolina's most dangerous inmates, remains in a maximum security prison under close watch.

Detective Hale had been with the Raleigh Police Department for 7 years and was promoted five days before his death. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
